This very undernourished deer was obviously sick and dying. Along with the fantastic opportunities to photograph and live amongst the deer, there is also the harsh realities of their life that go along side by side. Look at the infected ears on this one. Yesterday I saw two dead deer killed by cars-one was a fawn under three months old.
Lots of garbage gets washed up on this beach from all over the islands. This deer has to navigate around a piece of plastic to get to the tiny hatching shrimp also washed up.
