White-crowned Pigeon. This bird is on the Endangered Species List. When it migrates south to Cuba and the Indies, it is not protected and is killed for food.
The Great White Heron is on the Endangered Species list. Even with the Great White Heron Refuge nearby, this was still a rare sight to see.
Too many people on the mainland wanted hats made of these beautiful feathers until the bird became nearly extinct.
