Early this morning there were two bucks fighting as a doe grazed nearby. They were seriously butting their antlers together and at one point it seemed as if they were locked together as one male nearly muscled the other onto the ground. Although mating season is over, does can get pregnant in this tropical climate all year long, though not very common after December or January.
It was like watching a wrestling match and I wondered if I would interfere as I might be tempted to do if I saw that the smaller deer was getting seriously injured.
The match broke up when the doe ran off, and after knocking down some garbage cans the winner sauntered off in her direction with the defeater trailing behind.
