Twilight is a dangerous time to drive on the island because the deer are very active then. Tonite I literally had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting this deer before it ran into the water. My camera, laying in the passenger sit, slid to the floor. As I was moving out of the way another deer nearly collided with the car also. This was the closest I have gotten to having a collision with a Key deer in over three years.
