These jellyfish live on the surface of the ocean. AKA velella velella, sea raft, purple sail, little sail, or by-the-wind-sailor. They have a small sail which catches the wind and sends them adrift depending on the currents.
By-The-Sea-Ibises were having a feast on the tiny jumping shrimp brought in by the tide. Although most of the other water and shore birds I have seen here are scarce in the winter, there is always a flock of resident Ibis.
