

This male deer is about two years old. You can tell the approximate age of a deer by the number of points he has on his rack.

Some velvet remains on the antlers. They were not aggressive even though a female was travelling with them.

The conditions were very good for romping around in the marsh this morning, not filled with the quicksand-like mud found in the springtime, yet the mosquitos were still prevalent. This shot is as close as I could possibly get without a blurred image. The deer was about five feet away from me or less.
