Immature Green Heron. This is the same little bird I photographed last week. He looks scared and I feel guilty for disturbing him!
This is the same deer I photographed on October 7th, without the young male fawn. Perhaps Dad has succeeded in chasing it away. There was something very romantic about being in the marsh before the sun rose and seeing the deer lovers together in the dark.
Some does still act like deer and run away when humans approach. The deer blend in so perfectly with the environment that as soon as they slip into the woods, they become invisible.
